American Exports: Dempsey scores, but Spurs out of Cup
AMSTERDAM – Tottenham Hotspur ace Clint Dempsey continued his scoring roll on Sunday, but it was in a 2-1 losing cause at FA Cup fourth-round hosts Leeds United.
Having already missed narrowly wide on a pair of chances, the US attacker sliced the home lead in half with a well-taken header on 58 minutes. It was Dempsey’s fifth goal in January, and his eighth of the campaign across all competitions.
